Manchester United reach agreement for £52.5m man Fred

Manchester United have announced their first signing of the summer off season - Brazil global Frederico Rodrigues de Paula Santos, better known as Fred.

By signing from Ukrainian champions Shakhtar Donetsk, Fred has become José Mourinho's first summer recruit, and he's also only the seventh Brazilian ever to pull on the famous red jersey.

"A further announcement will be made in due course".

United saw off competition from Manchester City to land Fred, who is set to move to the Premier League after five seasons in Ukraine.

The Brazil global arrived at Manchester United's training ground this morning to complete his £52million move to the club.
