Future iPhones to Feature Curved Displays, Touchless Controls
In a world with so many smartphone manufacturers constantly competing with each other for a share of the market, innovation is a key factor and Apple is attempting to be at the forefront of innovation once again.
Both of these technologies are still under works and there's a high chance that Apple could ditch these in favour of something else. Most probably, this feature will allow users to control their devices by simply moving their finger close to the display, without touching the panel. (Though Apple's "all-screen" design is far less successful than Samsung's.) The iPhone X was also among the first iPhones to feature wireless charging, a feature that's been available in Android handsets for years. Assumptions are that Apple may not be ready to mass produce such iPhones for the next two years.
The new technology is rumored to be two years away from debuting to the public or if Apple is even interested in using it. Apple will implant the latest technology in the iPhone bezel instead of the display, which is similar to Samsung's Air Gestures. Apple is still in the early development stages with those technologies.
So, what is Apple promoting as the headlines features of the new 2018 iPad?
Google’s unofficial motto is ‘Don’t be evil
Apple is staying ahead of the curve by introducing features not found in competitors' models. But unlike the Samsung, Apple's implementation of the curved screen will be different.
Google is also working on technology using gestures through a program called Project Soli. This new feature would work by detecting the user's proximity to the screen to determine what the person is trying to do.
Moreover, Apple is also working on a new display that will replace current OLED display. Samsung is already working on a foldable smartphone, while Huawei is seeing increased success in Asia. However, Bloomberg reports that the OLED display on the iPhone X will be extended to a larger 6.5-inch iPhone model, which will likely be announced this year.
