Viral video suspect accused of sexually assaulting 3 children in MI

Germain Moore, 44, of Detroit, turned himself in at a police station outside Birmingham, Alabama, early Tuesday, Feb. 6, after his mug shot and name were splashed across news sites and police bulletins as a suspect in the dissemination of the video that has spread as far as France.

Moore was wanted on 11 felony charges in Alabama and Detroit.

Authorities said the child seen in the video has been found and is safe.

The video in question, being circulated on Facebook and other social platforms, shows a young girl being forced to perform oral sex on an adult male.

Police in Detroit say the sharing of a sexually explicit video involving a young girl - even for the goal of helping the victim and catching a suspect - could lead to distribution of child porn charges. Details are limited as this is an ongoing investigation. Instead, police recommend deleting child pornography if you receive it and contacting either local police or the Ohio Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force at 440-886-5284, WFMJ reported.

State Bureau of Investigation Lt. Brooke Walker said Moore's fiancee was arrested Monday night and is not cooperating.

The video has been going around social media in the Youngstown area, and in other parts of the country, the television station reported.

Several police departments are warning users to not share a video that's been circulating on Facebook.

Meanwhile, Montgomery police have arrested 42 year old Jerrell Washington for distributing the video.

"We do not allow the sharing of child exploitative images on Facebook or Messenger - even to express outrage".

"PLEASE DO NOT SHARE those images or video", the Polk County Sheriff's Office said in a message posted to their Facebook page Sunday.

Washington is being held at the Montgomery County Detention Facility under a $100,000 bond.

But sharing the video could have legal repercussions for those who do so, since spreading child pornography is illegal no matter the intent. The person sharing the video can be arrested and charged.
