TDP says not to break alliance with BJP

"We were given clear instructions from our party central leadership to maintain the coalition dharma but at the same time take forward the message that the Centre has been helping Andhra Pradesh all these years, irrespective of any budget allocations".

The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) will not be pulling out of BJP-led National Democratic Alliance for the time being, but will use its entire arsenal to corner the Narendra Modi government inside and outside Parliament on the raw deal meted out to Andhra Pradesh, especially in the recent budget. Last week, Naidu had issued an ultimatum to the BJP chart its own course if the BJP did not wish to continue with the alliance.

It is reported that Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh rang up the Chief Minister and advised restraint, assuring him that issues relating to AP would be addressed. Naidu told his ministers that first, he would like to meet the PM and then wait for some measures from the Centre before the budget session concludes by the next month end. So CBN and MPs made a decision to voice out in parliament and outside the parliament and express their dissatisfaction on BJP's treatment to AP state.

Naidu's remarks also come close on the heels of YSR Congress Party chief Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy's statement that he would support the BJP if Andhra Pradesh was given special status.

Ally stalling the Parliament will be an embarrassment for BJP for sure.
