Samsung Galaxy S9 might be announced as early as February 2018

The Galaxy S8 was delayed from its original launch plan and didn't arrive until around April/May.

Lastly, Korean publisher The Bell has stated that Samsung will unveil is Galaxy S9 line at the MWC in February 2018, however, neither device will be available for purchase until the following August. Just like its predecessors, Galaxy S9 will be a high-end smartphone. We've been seeing upcoming mobile devices but we're excited to know what Samsung and LG will introduce.

In recent years Samsung has used the Qualcomm silicon in models heading to the North American market and it's likely it'll do the same again this time around, although we've seen no specific evidence to point one way or the other as yet.

According to rumors, Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus will have same design and Infinity Display Screen size as that of Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus. The renders, which have not been independently confirmed and consequently might or might not be the real thing, show a device that comes with numerous same design features as the Galaxy S8 line, but with some important distinctions. The bottom and top bezels have expanded a little, but it's not very noticeable and nowhere near the 90% screen-to-body ratio that was previously rumoured. The phones would feature a Fingerprint Scanner underneath the camera instead of placing besides the camera.

If the Galaxy S9 does indeed skip CES, we may see it arrive at an Unpacked Event shortly before MWC. The report says the larger handset will be the first of the A-Series to boast a 6-inch AMOLED display.

While speculation surrounds that the Galaxy S9 series will feature a headphone jack, and as such as been included within both the renders and, I think, the schematics, it is not yet confirmed and therefore might not be included in the final design. As usual, expect some to be region specific, but the initial quartet will allegedly be black, blue, gold, and a new purple/violet hue.
