Willie Taggart coming back to Florida to coach FSU

This represents a rare change of pace for Florida State, which has only had two head coaches since 1976. "'Do Something" became his tagline for his first season with the Ducks.

Taggart coached at South Florida before he took the Ducks job, and he is considered a strong recruiter in the state. The Bradenton, Fla., native led South Florida to a 10-2 record and top-25 finish in 2016 before accepting the OR job.

It will be Taggart's third program in three seasons. He led USF to a win against SC in the Birmingham Bowl last season before heading to Oregon.

It's impossible to foresee how Taggart will fare in a prestigious program like Florida State.

Florida State finished this season 6-6 and will play Southern Miss in the Independence Bowl.

First (and last) supermoon of 2017 is coming

OR started 4-1 and even briefly popped into the AP rankings, but starting quarterback Justin Herbert broke his collarbone and the Ducks floundered, going 1-4 without him.

It didn't take long for Florida State to replace Jimbo Fisher.

Willie Taggart is headed back to the Sunshine State. In eight seasons, Fisher went 83-23 (.783) and guided the Seminoles to three ACC titles as well as the 2013 national championship.

The Seminoles expect to have quarterback Deondre Francois back next season after he suffered a season-ending knee injury in the opener against Alabama.

This has a big impact on Boise State which faces OR in the Las Vegas Bowl on Saturday, Dec. 16 as they will be taking on a Ducks team that lost its coach 13 days before kickoff.
