Police were on hand as crowds gathered outside Nottingham Contemporary to welcome the newly-engaged couple.

As thousands of fans tuned in again this morning to see the couple arrive for their first day of duties in Nottingham, numerous world's designers will have also been on standby again, just in case the royal-to-be has been shopping, incognito, in one of their stores.

Their visit to Nottingham comes four days after Harry and Markle announced their engagement.

Mary Cooper, 60, who had been waiting to see the prince and his bride-to-be since before 9am, said: "I think it's absolutely wonderful that both he and his brother have found happiness".

The couple will begin their city tour with a civic welcome at the National Justice Museum in Nottingham's historic Lace Market district. They later hit up the elegant Contemporary, which hosted the Terrence Higgins Trust World AIDS Day charity fair. The pair also visited Nottingham Academy to learn about the work of Full Effect, an organization which empowers young people to be active in the causes they care about.

Harry and Markle greeted people lining the streets in Nottingham on Friday.


It was announced earlier this week that the royal couple are set to tie the knot at St George's Chapel in the grounds of Windsor Castle in May next year.

Markle, a longtime actress in America, had been starring on the U.S. drama "Suits" when she began dating Harry, but confirmed after the engagement announcement that she is giving up her acting career.
