China's Xi fetes Trump on first day of Beijing trip

China on Wednesday rolled out the red carpet for U.S. President Donald Trump, capped by a visit to the famous Forbidden City and the signing of a slew of deals in the evening in the Great Hall of the People.

They found one such channel in his son-in-law, Jared Kushner, who helped arrange an April summit between Xi and Trump at Trump's Mar-A-Lago resort in Florida.

Trump, who has used an iPhone for Twitter posts, could use some options available to people in China to evade the Great Firewal though United States presidents in any case travel with their own sophisticated communications systems.

It will be a delicate balancing act as Trump squeezes China to fully enforce worldwide sanctions and use its substantial leverage against Pyongyang while also trying to convince Xi to correct trade imbalances with the US.

"I'm sure we've got the gear aboard this airplane to allow that to happen", the official continued. He had called China a currency manipulator and accused Chinese of stealing American jobs.

In another break from precedent, Xi himself gave the Trumps a tour of the imperial treasures of the Forbidden City, a UNESCO World Heritage site cleared of tourists for the day, before the two first couples watched Chinese opera and an acrobatic display.

The president said he was "having a great time" and at one point exclaimed "wow".

At a joint press conference with South Korea's Moon Tuesday, Trump emphasized how important China was to the North Korea issue, saying Xi "has been very helpful".

David Luiz 'being punished because of Diego Costa friendship'
David Luiz's future at Chelsea is very much up in the air right now - and it could all be because of former teammate Diego Costa . I saw him play against Roma [a 3-0 Champions League defeat] the other night and he didn't look anywhere near it.

Trump Falsely Claims US Hitting ISIS 'Harder' After New York Attack
The criminal complaint said he made a decision to use a rented truck as a weapon "to inflict maximum damage against civilians". Prosecutors say he had meant to head all the way to the Brooklyn Bridge, killing many more people along the way.

The Trump administration has been sending signals that it will maintain an Asian presence, for instance, boosting the so-called freedom of navigation missions in the South China Sea, which are aimed at undermining China's claims.

Some China watchers say Xi will use the meeting to promote his vision of a global future, in which waning superpower America and rising force China agree to refrain from conflict and find a way for peaceful transition. Trump said last week that the $347 billion (€299 billion) trade deficit with China was "so bad that it's embarrassing".

She added that "the biggest fear of the human rights community isn't that Trump will be silent about China's Internet controls and human rights record, but that he might say things that could be construed by the Chinese government and state-controlled media as supportive of Xi's approach". The White House has recently announced its vision of a "free and open Indo-Pacific", apparently sending a rallying cry for Australia and India to take a stand against rising Chinese clout.

Trump is expected to demand that China curtail its dealings with Pyongyang and expel North Korean workers. He merely wanted to use Taiwan as a bargaining chip to get better terms of trade with China.

Trump has used Twitter to both praise and scold Xi, especially over his handling of North Korea, which will be the focus of their talks on Thursday along with China's yawning trade surplus with the United States. "So North Korea will be high on the agenda".

His criticism of the country's major trade partners in Asia may win him support back home from those who believe his claim that unfair trade practices have stripped jobs and wealth from the USA "decade after decade, trade deficit upon trade deficit", as he said in March.

But, he stressed, "this issue can not be solved all by China's self". Iran now has missiles with a range of around 3,000 km, which poses no threat to the U.S. in the "foreseeable future", Ulyanov said.
