Bayern beats Dortmund away to go further clear in Bundesliga

Champions Bayern Munich outclassed title rivals Borussia Dortmund 3-1 away on Saturday to go four points clear at the top of the Bundesliga and stretch their flawless run under coach Jupp Heynckes to seven straight victories in all competitions.

Two wins each over Celtic and RBLepizig, as well as victories against Hamburger SV and SC Freiburg has seen the Bavarians reclaim their place at the top of the Bundesliga as well as all but secure qualification for the knockout stages of the Champions League - albeit PSG pipped them to first place in Group B.

Arjen Robben opened the scoring after 17 minutes, before Robert Lewandowski doubled the tally before half time.

Bayern, the defending champions, stay on course to win the title for a sixth straight season as they leave RB Leipzig behind in second, while Dortmund are now six points off the pace in third.

"This is something we worked on hard".

Star striker Robert Lewandowski also had his say on proceedings, the Polish star seeing that Bayern and Dortmund's strengths are going forward.

Bayern moved six points clear of Dortmund, which previously led the league after making its best-ever start, and stayed four points above Leipzig after extending Jupp Heynckes' record to seven wins from seven games across all competitions.

Kraft deposed in Kaepernick suit against NFL
Kaepernick drew national attention last season when he knelt during the national anthem before games to protest social injustice. That ESPN story said Kraft "politely rebuked" hard-line owners who were demanding that all players stand for the anthem.

"It was a very attack-minded game, both teams had lots of chances, but we scored three goals", said Lewandowski.

In typical Bayern fashion, those chances would prove costly as Lewandowski flicked Joshua Kimmich's right-sided cross past Burki via a telling touch from Omer Toprak on its way through - his seventh goal in seven matches against his former side.

The match lived up to its top Bundesliga billing with an entertaining first half and with Bayern gradually taking control.

"We did not play like a top team", admitted Dortmund coach Peter Bosz.

Dortmund's Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, last season's top scorer just ahead of Lewandowski, has now failed to score in his last five games, although he still has 10 for the season.

"We made a decision to play very compact, but that did not work in the first half".

Bosz, who replaced the sacked Thomas Tuchel for this season, is starting to look - and sound like a man on borrowed time.
