Tamil actor Kamal Haasan has triggered a furore by saying the right-wing groups are not unaffected by terrorism irking the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) which demanded an apology from him.

Actor Kamal Haasan has now sparked another controversy by stating in a popular Tamil weekly column that right-wing in India can not deny there are Hindu terrorists. Kamal Haasan said. Stoking a major political controversy, Tamil film icon Kamal Hassan on Thursday said Hindu terror does exist. "In reality, there is peace because Hindus are in majority", said BJP spokesperson Narayan Tripathi, as per a report in CNN News-18. Elaborating, Mr. Haasan said: "Hindus can not challenge others to show extremists among them since extremism has spread to that extent even among the Hindus".

"In the past, Hindu right-wing groups would not indulge in violence, but they would hold a dialogue with the opposite parties on their arguments".

He also said that people have lost faith in Satyameva Jayate.
