Fan favorite villain returning for Daredevil Season 3

Now, those plans may finally come to fruition because Vincent D'Onofrio is officially back for Daredevil season 3! Charlie Cox previous told us how much he wanted Kingpin to return (and Bullseye to debut), and we now have confirmation that the villain will, in fact, be returning for the show's third outing.

Fisk will again be portrayed by Vincent D'Onofrio, who gave a mesmerizing performance in the first season of the comic-book-inspired hit-a slow burn punctuated by startling bursts of violence and rage. He then returned for Daredevil Season 2. Should he be Matt Murdock's primary nemesis once again?

As noted by Loeb at the end of the quote, Kingpin's return is not the only piece of news here. Last season's showrunners Douglas Petrie and Marco Ramirez have departed "Daredevil" to work on "Marvel's The Defenders".

The streaming service hasn't announced a return date for "Daredevil" Season 3. Ramirez and Petrie moved from Daredevil's second season over to The Defenders. Oleson's writing and producing credits include The Man in the High Castle and one of The CW's superhero adaptations, Arrow.

This adds credence to the reports that season 3 will follow Daredevil's infamous "Born Again" storyline, in which Matt Murdock's identity is betrayed to Wilson Fisk, who uses it to make Matt's life a living hell. We're glad he'll get some more shine in season 3, though. He had recently teased fans about his return over Twitter, changing the page's banner to a behind the back shot of Kingpin, fueling speculation. Filming is now underway on the new season of the Netflix drama, which follows the events of Defenders, in which Daredevil, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, and Jessica Jones joined forces to fight the Hand.

Daredevil has put out two (some may argue one and a half) great seasons of television for Netflix.
