Ghana have lodged a complaint with FIFA against South African referee Daniel Bennett over his performance during the goalless draw with Uganda in the fifth round of the 2018 World Cup qualifiers on Saturday in Kampala, the Ghana Football Association announced.

The Ghana federation says it wants FIFA to "examine" the performances of Bennett and his assistant referees in its match.

The GFA filed the protest after South African referee Daniel Bennett ruled out Raphael Dwamena's 93rd minute goal for offside as the match ended in a 0-0 draw.

Both teams are on the brink of elimination from qualifying for the 2018 World Cup in Russian Federation as they both seek a win.

Instead, they now sit two points behind Uganda and three behind Egypt who top the group with a game in hand against Congo.
