Raiders QB Derek Carr has fracture in back, out 2-4 weeks

Carr's struggles in the last two games highlighted how lost the Raiders will be without him. Star quarterback Derek Carr, who was shut down mostly by the Denver defense, suffered a broken back in this game.

The Ravens go on the road to face the Raiders Sunday in a matchup between two teams that have both lost two straight games. Manuel entered the game on Sunday when Carr was injured and he completed 11 of 17 passes for 106 yards and one interception.

The Raiders franchise quarterback suffered a season-ending leg injury in Week 16 last season and signed a five-year, $125 million extension with the club this offseason. "I like the certainty he played with and I liked his accuracy".

Oakland Raiders quarterback Derek Carr will miss time, after all.

But, just one quarter of the way into this special season, the Raiders, and their quarterback, are decidedly not fine. This team goes as the quarterback goes, and Carr is the only quarterback on the Raiders roster that's now capable of leading a winning team.

Fourball romp puts USA in control of Presidents Cup
The pep talk worked early on, as Fowler opened with birdies on two of the first four holes to grab the US duo a 1-up lead. The best celebration came from the American team of Charley Hoffman and Kevin Chappell , who rode the bench on Thursday.

Manuel hasn't won a start since 2014, though he hasn't had many either. If the Raiders lose that game, they'll fall to 2-3. The season toughens in late November when Carr returns.

Oakland's offense actually started moving the ball a little more when E.J. Manuel entered the game, but that coincided with a odd shift in coverage strategy by Joe Woods and the Broncos from man-to-man to some more zone concepts.

The Raiders have looked flat for most of the past two games.

If Carr is out for beyond the minimum two weeks, it's hard to see a scenario where the Raiders do not enter the final two months of the season with at least four losses. The Ravens, also 2-2, don't seem to be a very good team.

No matter how well it appeared Manuel played against the Broncos, is that a fate any Raiders fan trusts the backup quarterback to avoid?
