Ghana's Black Stars B were declared winners of the 2017 WAFU Cup of Nations after thrashing rivals Super Eagles of Nigeria 4-1 in the final at Cape Coasts Sports Stadium on Sunday.

Stephen Sarfo, who won the Golden Boot and was crowned Man of the Match, opened the goal feast a minute before halftime, before a 59th-minute goal by Vincent Atingah doubled their lead.

Nigeria hit a consolation goal through Rabiu Ali later in additional time.

Straight from kick off, the Ghanaians showed they were out to avenge that earlier group stage defeat.

"This the NFF said was a way of motivating and spurring the team to give their best and win the coveted trophy".

Sarfo put Ghana ahead in the 43rd minute of the game with a sensational strike before completing his brace from the spot in the dying minutes of the encounter.
