Jaguar Land Rover to offer electric versions of all vehicles by 2020

Representing the past, present and future of the brand, all three vehicles share the distinction of running on battery power alone, highlighting Jaguar's new commitment to electrify every new vehicle it releases from 2020 on.

One. From 2020, all-new JLR products will be electrified in some capacity. Jaguar Land Rover announced the news on Thursday at its very first Tech Fest event, noting that this will include fully electric, plug-in hybrid and mild hybrid vehicles.

Using components and technology from Jaguar's upcoming all-electric debut, the I-Pace, the E-type Zero is expected to achieve a range of 170 miles and be capable of fully recharging from home in six or seven hours. No other reproduction or distribution is permitted without prior written consent.

According to Bloomberg, JLR is unveiling designs for a battery version of its iconic E-Type roadster at a tech fair in London that starts later this week.

Tim Hannig, director, Jaguar Land Rover Classic, says the E-Type Zero will future-proof classic auto ownership as it looks to bring the concept to reality. But after a trip through Jaguar Land Rover Classic Works in Coventry, it's got something a bit different going on under the hood.

The Jaguar E-Type Zero was unveiled along with the Jaguar I-PACE.

United States military options on North Korea 'very ugly'
It has said military drills by South Korea and the United States on the Korean peninsula had done nothing to lessen tensions. China is the biggest foreign food supplier to North Korea, which has limited farmland and relies on imports to fill the gap.

Jaguar says the steering wheel could be the only part of a vehicle people own in the future as the industry moves toward autonomous cars for hire.

This isn't Jaguar Land Rover smashing the combustion engine to pieces in favour of greener alternatives but, by offering up options for greener engine options, the automaker hopes it can reach its goal of offering up a completely clean range of cars in time for the British government's 2040 ban on petrol and diesel vehicles.

The U.K. automaker's plan to offer greener versions of its sporty Jaguar cars and Land Rover SUVs comes as governments crack down on air pollution and Carbon dioxide emissions. The Ingenium engine that now sits at the heart of JLR's cars was created to be modular, so the next step you can expect is a wider range of hybrid options.

In fact, the all-new electric drivetrain weighs about 100 lbs less than the original engine, mounted to preserve the E-Type's weight distribution and driving through the original rear differential.

At the heart of the vehicle is Sayer, an "intelligent" steering wheel that it is claimed will revolutionise the way drivers live their lives.

And Jaguar predicts you won't even own the driverless auto but will be a member of an on-demand vehicle sharing club by 2040 - although you will still be able to drive the auto as well as let the computer take over.
