According to the reports, 52-year-old Joseph Hetzel was booked into county jail on kidnapping and carjacking his ex-lover.

Hetzel saw the exchange, grabbed Paris, dragged out her out of the shop and kicked her into a vehicle before driving off, investigators said.

Sheriff's investigators had been searching for Hetzel and his ex-girlfriend, Virginia Paris, since he was suspected of kidnapping her Friday night in Solvang.

Deputies added that Hetzel apparently saw this so he grabbed her and dragged her out of the shop.

According to the Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office, Hetzel has previously served time in prison for possession of items used to make explosive devices, using explosive devices with the intent to terrorize, felony vandalism and criminal threats.

The two were first spotted Sunday morning at a Starbucks at McDowell and Litchfield roads in Goodyear.

Paris allegedly told authorities that Hetzel, who remains missing, may be headed to Utah, officials said. Henderson police officers met Paris at the casino and took her to University Medical Center to be checked out. She went to the bathroom and after she came out, told a female customer that she needed help, authorities said.

After two hours of the distress call, Paris told the staff that she was kidnapped by her ex-boyfriend Hetzel.

Paris was found late Monday night at a casino in Henderson.

On Tuesday morning, investigators say Hetzel dropped off Paris in front of the Railroad Pass Hotel and Casino in Henderson, Nevada and drove away.

Authorities located Paris' vehicle, a 2015 black Chrysler 200 abandoned in Mesquite, Nevada.
